This all-day late-afternoon feeling will be here for the next couple of months, until sometime around Groundhog Day. There's no definite ending date, like a Solstice or Equinox or anything. I'll just sort of start to notice that the shadowy feeling is ending, perhaps on the first sunny day after a few days of clouds.
I know just the sensation you mean. (We're pretty local to one another; I saw you comment on the server-rack-moving thing mark posted about and thought hey, the face in that icon looks familiar. My husband and I came to a couple of the Pagan meetups at Dana St Coffee a while back and we've possibly bumped into each other at PantheaCon.) I find a similar one sometime in September, where even though the weather is still summer I start going "gee, the days really are kinda getting shorter, aren't they?" It comes on gradually but there's usually a particular one on which it "hits" or "clicks" that the sun is now setting way before I leave work (8:30 PM) instead of being still twilight when I drive home.
